Welcome

Scout BSA Troop 595 meets Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M. at 61st street and Lincoln Avenue in the scout room provided by our sponsor, Saint Rita Catholic Church. When scouts join our troop, they first learn The Scout Oath and The Scout Law - rules of good conduct and respect for others.  Scouts then learn outdoor skills, first aid, citizenship and leadership from older scouts and by working through the requirements of rank advancement and merit badges.

Troop 595 is not run by adults.  Instead, the youth run the troop meetings, decide on camping, biking, canoeing and service activities and teach the younger scouts.  The leadership learned in scouting helps our youth become young adults that can lead their families, co-workers, churches and communities.

Parents and volunteer leaders of Troop 595 follow the scouting program, help organize fundraisers, track and award advancements, organize trips selected by the scouts and manage the finances of the troop.  Parents can and do go to summer camp, on outings, hikes and high adventure trips.

If you and your son or daughter are interested in joining our troop, you can join us on Thursday evening to meet the other scouts, parents and leaders.

The T595 B (Boys) and T 595 G (Girls), youth and adult leadership continue to strive to create opportunities to serve the community, to help develop a personal character of good citizenship, to provide leadership skills and advancement, and to always encourage fun and new challenges.
